It’s not super important. I keep mine just above the percolators. If you overfill, it will take more pressure to draw the air in. More pressure = more draw on the insert, and the easier it is to cause the oil to splash out of the insert. Keep the water level on the lower side, take nice slow draws. You’ll be alright. Carta 2 is cheaper and it rips harder. The increase in airflow over a puffco is insane. I have about 2000 dabs and only needed to buy a new atty when someone let water get in there and fired it. The carta always is cheaper when I comes to replacement parts.
