Personally I got my INT to 18. Magus get expert and master 2 levels behind full casters. So I generally only prepare 1 attack spell for spellstrike and leave the rest for crowd control. I can respect that. But I just can't shake the feeling that pumping Int to 18 instead of your attack modifier ability is a bit of a trap in PF2 for the Magus.Prioritizing or dumping Intelligence is basically more of a build decision for Magus that has pros and cons for both. Putting points into Int gives you the benefits any character that puts points into it get. More trained skills, languages known, and better chance of success at knowledge and lore based skills.Humans reach physical adulthood around the age of 15, though mental maturity occurs a few years later. Magus really is its own thing, with unique elements (bounded casting is really not standard at all), and a steeper learning curve than tacking a Cleric or Wizard archetype onto Rogue or Fighter. I personally think the Magus has a place as a class in PF2, but the traditional Magus would be one of a few variants. They could have 3-4 "Orders". One being the traditional spellsword, another the arcane archer, a third focusing on magically enhanced armor (Eldritch Knight), and the final directing their power into their shield (Captain America).
